SunCraft Energy

SunCraft Energy is Ganit Energy's technical and EPC partner — a full-stack solar energy solution provider founded in 2011 and headquartered in Kolkata, operating across three business lines:

Consulting Services

Project feasibility, site assessments, technical reporting, and project development & management.

EPC Services

RESCO Assets

An independent power producer since 2019 — including the 6+ MW of existing operational assets, which SunCraft developed and currently owns and maintains.

Credentials & footprint

  • Accredited and empaneled by the Government of India.
  • Operates in roughly 15 states across India, as well as in Africa.
  • In-house technology depth beyond EPC: manufactures solar inverters (power conditioning units) and smart energy management units.
  • R&D collaborations with leading institutes including IIT Kharagpur and the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS).
  • Key clients include: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Indian Oil (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum (HP), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Indian Railways, Ramakrishna Mission (RKM), and World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
  • Leadership overlap by design: Ganit Energy's Founder & President is a co-founder of SunCraft Energy — the alignment behind the "co-founder affiliate" relationship, carrying technical accountability and cost discipline into every Ganit Energy asset.

Sovereign Offtaker

Indian Railways

Indian Railways is a state-owned enterprise of the Ministry of Railways, Government of India — making every railway PPA a contract with a sovereign-grade counterparty. Its scale, and its declared clean-energy mandate, together anchor the demand side of Ganit Energy's India portfolio.

Scale & credentials

  • Operates the fourth-largest national railway network in the world, with roughly 69,000 route kilometres.
  • More than 1.2 million employees — among the ten largest employers in the world and one of the largest in India.
  • Approximately 99% of the broad-gauge network is electrified, making Indian Railways one of the largest single electricity consumers in the country.

2030 Targets

  • Declared target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, with an estimated requirement of roughly 30 GW of renewable capacity by 2029–30 — structural, policy-mandated demand for solar generation.

Why sovereign-backed offtakers matter: payment obligations rest on the Government of India rather than a commercial balance sheet, demand is anchored in national policy rather than market cycles, and contract tenures span decades — typically 25-year PPAs with railway entities that anchor portfolio cash flows with near-zero payment risk. The combination converts solar assets into infrastructure-grade cash flows.
